The story of the game follows the quest of two twin girls, Edith and Evelyn, as they traverse through a deserted land in search for their family. A mysterious illness has left most of the once lively town empty with corpses scattered all across it. The girls decide to leave on an adventure to discover what has happened to their family. The Twins of the Pasture is being developed by the independent game studio, Eggnut.The game is developed using the RPG Maker MV game engine. A free version of this game engine can be downloaded here . Because of this choice in development, most design decisions are based on what the developers learned with previous projects that also used this engine. The most notable example is that any character or enemy in "The Twins of the Pasture" represent a sprite sheet containing 24 frames (excluding the 2 frames where their eyes are closed). This limits details on each character but allows for more variety in terms of animations and poses making for more dynamic looking characters. The game is being developed by a small team of individuals that are experienced in the fields of art, programming, writing, design and audio. This game is being made in English. Other languages are still being considered for the future. On March 6th 2018, "The Twins of the Pasture" was released on Steam for PC for early access v1.0. The game went through several updates leading up to this version which added new areas and 10 new characters/enemies (with more to come in future updates).Since its initial release on Steam Early Access , "The Twins of the Pasture" has had over 20 updates adding new content including new areas, enemies and characters (and more to come). The development of the game is still ongoing and a full version is expected to be released in late 2018 or early 2019. The game is not designed to be difficult and the combat system is mostly used as a way for the player to interact with the environment by collecting loot and interacting with various objects such as switches. The majority of time is spent exploring new areas, solving puzzles or simply discovering new places on your own. "The Twins of the Pasture" uses turn based combat with each character having two actions they can use each turn.
